This month has been another first for Dandelion Time and it’s supporters.
We had a team of 9 runners at the Brighton Marathon: thank you Toby, Stella, Claire, Carola, Paul, Julie, Joe, Simon and Felix.
This team was followed a week later by 5 runners at the London Marathon: thank you Karen, Tom, Derek, Gary, Nazlihan from Beginners2Runners from Coxheath.
The atmosphere at both events was wonderful, chillier by the sea, and hot in London. No easy feat to run that distance in an apple suit, baked apples by the finishing line.
All 9 runners crossed the line at Brighton, looking tired but elated to have achieved such an amazing #doit4dandelion and raising approximately £8,000 for our charity.
The 5 happy Pink Apples, from the Beginners2Runners group, also finished the London Marathon on the Mall, still smiling and rosey. They had an amazing crowd of Beginners2Runners supporters to cheer them on and be ready with supplies along the route. They have raised approximately £5,000.
Both of these groups have achieved an amazing fundraising total, which all goes directly to supporting the children and families who come to Dandelion Time. Thank you runners so very much from us all.
