144 staff from Kimberly-Clark came to Dandelion Time for a Community Day recentlyl. The enthusiastic team of volunteers left their offices for the day, armed with tools and ready to take on the hard manual work needed, and all in one day!
In the course of the day, they created a new therapeutic project area so that Dandelion Time can work with more vulnerable children and their families.
At 9am, the site was a field with grazing sheep and by 6pm the area had been transformed into a stand-alone therapeutic project area with Yurt base, wood fire pizza oven, self-composting toilet, open air Pergola eating area, raised vegetable beds, storage shed, paths, hedging and fencing.
The Kimberly-Clark Community Day was expertly led by David Charlton, Customer Business Manager. David split the 144 volunteers into 15 teams, each of whom had to organise and manage their own area of activity. David Charlton said ‘I am very proud of what we managed to achieve, and I hope that this will help Dandelion Time make a massive positive difference to even more young lives’.
Dandelion Time Chief Executive, Graham Carpenter said “thanks to Kimberly Clark’s Community Day, Dandelion Time have now got a wonderful new area to extend our family working for increased number of children. Without their help this would not have been possible in the near future”.
Kimberly-Clark is all about ‘making lives better’ which makes Dandelion Time a perfect partner for our 2016 Community Day…. An extremely rewarding experience for all involved’! Kate Goodman – Managing Director, Kimberly-Clark UK & Ireland.
We look forward to sharing the new Therapeutic Area with our visitors at our May Fair on Saturday 14th.
