One Donation, double the difference

The Big Give Christmas Challenge

On behalf of the 16 additional families that Dandelion Time will be able to support in 2025, thank you to each and every one who donated to this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge.
Together our supporters have raised an incredible £50, 942.92.

One-third of bereaved children reach clinical levels of emotional and or behavioural difficulties in the two years following a parent’s death. Compared to their non-bereaved peers, children whose mother or father have died are around 1.5 times as likely as non-bereaved children to have a mental health disorder. *

Early intervention is crucial in supporting the mental health of bereaved children. With 1 in every 29 children facing bereavement by their 16th birthday, ** it is essential to expand Dandelion Time’s support to more families referred to us to overcome trauma.

The Big Give – One donation. Double the difference.

The Big Give is now closed but general donations make a true impact year-round.

With your help, we can make a difference to the life of a local family struggling to cope with bereavement, such as Emma and Amelie:

From that first session, I noticed a change in Amelie. Being outside with the animals, in an open natural environment, suited her and us. One day in the woodland, Amelie was running, carefree, singing, and smiling. She stopped, looked at me, and said, “Mummy, this is my safe place.”

Our Safe Place

Amelie witnessed her dad’s passing after a 4-year battle with cancer, and struggled to express her grief, which often resulted in angry outbursts. At Dandelion Time she was able to open up in a way her mother Emma had never heard before.
