Volunteer roles

Fundraising volunteer
You will work alongside our fundraising team to raise the profile of the charity at events across the County. Based at our rural site in West Farleigh, the role may have scope to be remote or pan Kent.
Family session volunteer
You will work alongside the therapeutic caseworker to prepare the session activities and respond to the needs of the children and families as guided by the caseworker during the session at one of our sites in West Farleigh, Gravesham or Shadoxhurst.


Family session cook
This role involves preparing and cooking simple meals for the families and the team at one of our sites in West Farleigh, North Kent or Mid Kent, preparing the table, and clearing and tidy away after the meal alongside the team. We are currently recruiting to a wait list for this role.
Maintenance assistant
You will work alongside our Facilities Manager at our main Hub in West Farleigh, helping to maintain buildings, operate machinery and undertake DIY.


Gardener
You will join our team of gardeners working alongside our Family Farm Manager to undertake general outdoor duties such as weeding, mowing, digging and planting on our beautiful rural site in West Farleigh.
Animal carer
You will help care for our lovely family of animals. Duties will include feeding, mucking out and general animal care. This may include mornings, evenings or weekends depending on your availability and on a rota basis at our rural site in West Farleigh.

Volunteer Driver
Using your own car, you’ll collect families from their homes and drive them to one of our sites in Maidstone, Ashford or Gravesham, returning them home after their 2.5 hour session. Mileage expenses are reimbursed.
Dandelion Time is committed to a culture that safeguards and promotes the welfare of children with robust Safer Recruitment procedures that deter and prevent people who are unsuitable to work with children from applying for or securing employment or volunteering within the charity. All individuals working in any capacity at Dandelion Time will be subject to safeguarding checks in line with the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education. This will include a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
