Dandelion Time has been named a finalist in the Kent Charity Awards 2026, in the new “Animals & The Environment for Wellbeing” category.

This new category recognises the important role that nature and the environment can play in supporting wellbeing. It reflects something at the heart of Dandelion Time’s work: how time spent outdoors, caring for animals, and taking part in hands-on activities can help children feel calmer, more confident, and better able to engage.

Many of the children we support are struggling with anxiety, trauma and difficulties in their lives that affect how they feel. Through our nature-based, family programmes, children and families are given the time and space to take part, connect with others, and begin to feel more able to return to learning.

It’s a real honour to be recognised in this category, highlighting the difference this work makes for children and families.

We look forward to celebrating with the other finalists at the awards later this year.
