Looking for a simple way to get kids outside and spark their creativity? This week, we’re turning nature into an art studio!

Gathering leaves, stones, sticks, and petals isn’t just about collecting—it’s about seeing the world differently and using what you find to create beautiful pictures and patterns. Nature is the perfect palette, and the outdoors is your canvas.

Why Nature Art?

Making art with natural materials helps children connect with their surroundings and express themselves creatively—all while enjoying fresh air and sunshine.

How to Get Started

  • Take a nature walk and collect interesting leaves, smooth stones, twigs, and flower petals.
  • Find a flat surface outside or bring a piece of cardboard to create on.
  • Arrange your natural treasures into shapes, animals, faces, or abstract patterns.
  • Take photos of your artwork to share or keep as memories before gently returning everything to nature.

Make it mindful

Encourage kids to slow down and really observe the textures, colours, and shapes of the materials they find. It’s a calming way to connect with nature and notice its little wonders.

Share Your Creations!

We’d love to see your nature art masterpieces! Share your photos and stories with us on social media using the hashtag #SummerOfNature. Let’s inspire each other with the beauty found right outside our doors.
