The leader of Maidstone Council, Cllr Stuart Jeffery, officially opened the Bradbury Roundhouse on Friday 14th March. Hugh Inman from The Bradbury Foundation, who generously provided the funding for the building, attended the event along with staff and volunteers.
We have seen a continued rise in demand for our pioneering nature-based therapy since we welcomed our first families in 2003,” explained Graham Carpenter, Dandelion time’s CEO. “The Bradbury Roundhouse will not only enable us to increase the number of families we provide support to but allow us to explore new ways of working with vulnerable children.”
Since the building was completed in January, we have already been able to expand our offering to local school children, with our new Nurture in Nature programme, as well as to children supported by other local charities.
As part of our commitment to protect the natural environmental, the eco credentials of the build were also paramount. The structure was built using timber and topped with a living roof.
